Maktab After-School Program for Kids (Grades 3-5)
Qalam Academy’s Maktab After-School Program is an in-person, after-school program designed for upper elementary students, offering a structured and engaging approach to learning Qur’an, Islamic studies, and character development. With dedicated teachers and small class sizes, students are supported as they grow in their knowledge and confidence.
Classes meet Monday to Wednesday, 5:00–7:00 PM at the Qalam Campus.
Daily Islamic Practice
Children will be immersed in an environment where daily practice is at the heart of learning. Our curriculum encourages daily engagement, empowering children to embody their faith with confidence and devotion.
Intimate Class Setting
With a focus on small student-to-teacher ratios, each child receives personalized attention and guidance, ensuring a deep understanding and application of teaching
Love for the Faith
We aim to instill a solid foundation of Islamic knowledge and spiritual growth while nurturing a genuine love for faith. A memorable love that children can carry with them throughout their life, insha’Allah.

Curriculum:
The curriculum for the Maktab After-School Program includes:
Qur’anic Reading: Develop proficiency in reciting the Qur’an.
Akhlaq (Character): Duʿa memorization and teaching Islamic manners of various age-appropriate topics
Islamic Studies: Covering a broad range of topics including:
Seerah (Biography) of the Prophet ﷺ
Pillars of Faith
Practical foundations of Islam (Salah, Wudu, etc)
Selected Surahs (Chapters) from the Quran
Stories of the Prophets
Lives of the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ
Program Offerings:
Each session consists of 2 hours.
Comprehensive materials provided for each student, including Qur'ans, reading Qaidahs, and student workbooks.
In-class project materials available, such as pencils, papers, boards, and other necessary supplies.
Engaging activities and interactive break times incorporated into the program.
