Empower yourself with the language of the Qurʾan. Our Qurʾanic Literacy program is designed to help students deepen their connection with the Qurʾan by immersing them in the divine words of Allah ﷻ, introducing them to the beauty of the Arabic language, and strengthening their recitation skills.
Qurʾanic Literacy courses are offered both in-person and online.

Fall 2025 Course Offerings:
ARAB-101: Quranic Arabic for Beginners
Day/Time: Tuesdays 6:30pm - 8:00pm
Instructor: Sr. Fuseina Mohamed
Course Description: Embark on an empowering journey with our "Quranic Arabic for Beginners" course. Designed for individuals with little to no prior knowledge of Arabic, this course introduces students to the fundamental rules of grammar, key vocabulary, and basic sentence structures used in the Quran. Through engaging lessons and practical exercises, students will learn the basic tools needed to understand the Qur’an. By the end of the course, students will be able to comprehend high frequency vocabulary, identify different sentence structures, recognize pronouns, and identify basic verb forms with guided practice through a short passage from the Qur’an directly. The overall objective is to develop basic literacy skills in understanding the language of the Qur’an.
QUR-101: Fundamentals of Qur’an Recitation
Day/Time: Mondays & Wednesdays - Onsite/Online
6:00pm - 7:00pm (Level 1) | 7:00-8:00pm (Level 2)

Course Description: This course is designed to guide individuals in learning to read the Quran, regardless of their current skill level. The program focuses on mastering letter recognition, developing reading fluency, proper enunciation, and applying tajwīd rules. Through guided exercises, interactive activities, and individualized feedback, students will learn to recite the Qur’an properly with confidence and a renewed commitment to the Book of Allah.
QUR-102: Word-for-Word Study of Surah Yusuf
Day/Time: Thursdays, 6:00 - 7:15 pm
Instructors: Ust. Ayesha Baig & Ust. Sally Elhouseiny
Course Description: Deepen your connection with the Quran through this Word for Word translation course in which students will enhance their comprehension and engagement with selected passages of the Qur’an. Students will identify key vocabulary, be guided through refined, nuanced translations, understand overarching themes, and develop a holistic understanding through a concise commentary of the selected passage. The overall objective is for students to develop a meaningful relationship with the Qur’an that is not only practical but builds a Qur’anic worldview that serves as a living compass through every arena of their lives.
